Time for a new type of Rally that is easy to arrange, can be driven solo, with a co-driver, or with the whole family.

To take part in a Scatter Rally you will need a car, digital camera, a good map to plan your route with, and a pen and paper to make notes.

There is no fixed starting point for the rally; you start where you wish. There is no specific route to follow; rather, you are given a set of tasks to complete and you create your own route. There is a designated finish point and a specified time to be there.

There are two main types of tasks in the rally, General Tasks and Specific Tasks.

General Tasks: You will be asked to take a photograph of a something that can be found at many different place, for example; a specific type of road sign.

Specific Tasks: You will be asked to take a photograph of your car at a specified location, for example; to photograph your car at a specific church. Note, both the church and the car must be visible in the photograph to get points.

A Scatter Rally Task List will be released the day before the Rally so that you have time to plan your route and decide on when you will start. Remember, there is a designated finish point and time; you must plan to be there as close to the finish time as possible.

It is up to you to decide how long it will take, how many stops you wish to make on the way, and the type of roads you will travel on. You can chose the shortest route between each task or use longer scenic routes. There will always be plenty of places to stop for coffee and enjoy the scenery.
